Social media can entertain us, and it can lead us to sources of information about the world. However, we are not always fully cognizant of how much influence content published online has on the shaping of opinions throughout society. The algorithms driving social-media platforms favor topics that incite strong emotion and provoke heated discussion—a context which can all too easily become a breeding ground for intolerance and hate speech. But we will not stand for this! We aim to develop a counter-narrative against harmful and prejudiced content. To build a space where the internet can become a communal second HOME worth caring for.
