PAH will provide comprehensive psychosocial, water, sanitation and food support. PAH will also provide cash assistance and secure shelter and heating fuel for residents and internally displaced persons in eastern and southern Ukraine.
In line with the project, PAH will continue its work in the 6 psychosocial assistance centers created in previous years in the Nikolaev, Kharkiv and Kherson regions, through which PAH staff provide psychosocial support to elderly people struggling with psychological problems and social isolation.
Moreover, 1,700 people with special needs, the elderly and the disabled will receive hygiene kits from PAH.
PAH will also provide cash assistance covering 3 months’ needs, which will be given to 1,400 of the people most in need of help. Food support will also be delivered to 1,300 people, as packages of products covering monthly caloric needs.
As part of the winter support, PAH will provide firewood to the most needy people living in rural areas. The 2,600 households living in the most shelling-prone areas will receive kits with items necessary for quick repair work in case of shelling damage, such as moldings, nails, mounting foams and repair films.
The project will be complemented by capacity-building assistance for 6 local aid organizations, to which PAH will provide relevant workshops. The organizations will also be able to receive coaching and consulting services, which will enable them to apply for their own aid grants in the future.
In total, 12,545 people will receive aid.
