Having shelter provides one with a feeling of safety and privacy. It is a space that protects from cold, humidity, heat, and other risks to human health. The shelter also contains all of a people’s belongings and ensures that they can live their everyday life in dignity.
Conflicts and natural disasters force people to leave their homes and flee in search of shelter far from dangers. Moving front lines, unstable economic and social situation in regions make it impossible to settle down safely in one place. People who flee their homes as a result of war must leave their homes, belongings and lives behind.
For many people, the provision of non-food items constitutes necessary aid, which improves their health, safety, privacy, and dignity. All of this is necessary to provide the people in IDP’s camps with safe living conditions.
