PAH responding to these challenges by helping the people of Koat and Maker (Nasir County) by providing access to water and toilets and distributing basic necessities.
The project will establish clean water intakes for 14,000 people, in addition to distributing hygiene kits to 4,800 people. These activities are aimed at reducing the risk of diseases associated with the consumption of contaminated water and improving sanitation on the ground. In Pibor County, on the other hand, PAH will provide 32,000 residents with access to clean water and sanitation, including the construction of new wells and rainwater harvesting systems. In particular, the village of Verteth, which is facing a severe lack of access to water, will be included in a special plan to build new water points.
Moreover, PAH will support 14,000 people in Nasir County by providing necessities. The project will also include training of local communities in the proper use of water and sanitation, as well as hygiene promotion. Awareness campaigns will also be conducted among 46,500 people on proper hygiene practices and the making of reusable sanitary pads by women using locally available materials.
