Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) is looking for a Global Head of Operations  

As the Global Head of Operations, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of all operational teams at both the PAH headquarters and country offices level, including the logistics, finance, HR, and administration teams. The person in this role will be a key member of the management team and will report directly to the Executive Director.

• Supervision of the organization’s operational processes to optimize the quality of humanitarian and development aid programs
• Implementation of the global operations strategy, taking leadership in strategic initiatives
• Creating an inclusive work environment focused on team development and achieving organizational goals, in line with the principles outlined in the PAH Culture Book
• Standardization of processes and policies across national offices and PAH headquarters
• Identifying and implementing innovative solutions in operational and cost management to optimize quality and efficiency
• Supervision of project budget preparation and execution
• Oversight of financial processes in national offices and headquarters
• Ensuring compliance of operational processes with institutional donor guidelines and overseeing reporting procedures
• Collaboration with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and other external partners
• Managing the operational team and supporting its development
• Overseeing technical infrastructure, including facilities, fixed assets, inventory, and equipment

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, including at least 3 years of operational management experience in the field
• Ability to develop and implement operational strategies and effectively manage international projects (with a minimum value of €1 million)
• Experience in managing multicultural and dispersed teams (over 10 people)
• Experience in financial and budget management
• Fluency in English (C2) in both written and spoken communication; knowledge of additional languages (e.g., Polish, French, Ukrainian or Russian) is an asset
• Higher education (preferred fields: international relations, management, or related disciplines)
• Flexibility and availability for occasional travel to regions where PAH operates
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate with various stakeholders
• Analytical skills, strategic thinking, and experience in change management

• Work in a non-governmental organization with a high level of public trust and over 30 years of documented experience in effective humanitarian aid in Poland and worldwide
• An international and multicultural work environment (we employ over 300 people from 25 countries)
• Employment based on an employment contract
• Hybrid work model: up to 9 remote workdays per month.
