Our Immediate Response Team reached the hardest-hit region already on the third day after the disaster. Activities on the ground continued for several weeks. We distributed hygiene packages (with hygiene items, water), blankets and mattresses, warm-ready meals, as well as warm clothing, including thermal underwear and fleece, to the affected people. Activities were carried out in both Turkish and Syrian regions, in cooperation with local partners – International Humanitarian Relief (IHR) and Orange Foundation – operating in both countries. This cooperation has enabled us to work more effectively and efficiently. 

In Syria, we are implementing additional projects aimed at improving the quality of life of those affected by the disaster. So we are implementing projects there to improve the quality of life. In several towns in Idlib province, in cooperation with Better Shelter, we erected 6 temporary reception centres for people who lost their homes in the earthquake. Each centre could accommodate up to 50 people at a time. They were properly prepared and equipped. In addition to this, we have taken measures to improve access to water and are repairing the damaged water and sanitation infrastructure.
